The Beach Date

The beach is one of my favorite places. People are genial and often more open than in the city. Best of all it is just a great place to let loose and hang. It’s a great place to bring a girl for a date. If your are going to take a date to the beach, there are a few things that you have to do to be prepared. Here are some tips and advice in that direction.

There are FIVE main things that you have to take to any beach outing. If you forget any for these, your day will be off to a lousy start that can only get worse. BSSWT is the mnemonic to remember. They stand for Blanket, sunscreen, shoes, water and towels. You need water or else you can get a severe headache from dehydration. The shoes and towel are to protect your feet and body from the incredibly hot sand, and the sunscreen is to protect your skin so you can stay out all day. Use an SPF of 30 or better at a minimum. Now that you have the basics covered, we can move onto other considerations.

The Good Stuff

One of the truly great things about a beach date is that you get to see your honey in a bathing suit. The second plus is that it is inexpensive and usually just a lot of laid back fun. Of course it you have wrap around dark sunglasses, you can discretely check out all the other hot bodies as well.

Having fun with your date is the prime objective, and a beach just makes that happen. Beach balls and Frisbees brings out the kid in all of us. You might even get involved in a game of beach volleyball if there is a game going on. It can always be awkward to get those first few touches or embraces with a woman, but if you’re playfully wrestling and splashing in the water, it’s a quick way to get those first touches out of the way. And remember that sun screen? Helping each other put that on is instant "rub your hands all over the other person's body" intimacy. Outstanding!.

And of course, what is a day at the beach without an evening watching the sun set slowly while you munch on a picnic basket full of goodies. This is very romantic, and if you have played your cards right all day, will lead to much more intimacy.

The Bad Stuff

The hardest thing to anticipate when you’re going to the beach date are the weather variables. Check the forecast before you leave so that you have an idea of what might be coming. Remember too, that the temperature at the beach is always a little cooler, because of the onshore breeze. Bring an extra sweater in case she gets chilly.

Sharks are always a potential threat to a good date. Don’t take her to Amity Island in New England. From the films about that place I’ve seen, beach goers can have problems. ;-)

Babies and kids can be annoying, let’s face it. If you’re blanket is beside a family with a bunch of screaming babies or rambunctious kids, it can be tough to relax and get cozy with your lady. Find somewhere quiet and private. And don’t be afraid to move if a family settles beside you. Keep mobile!

Then you have the body builder types that parade around the beach showing off their bodies. These guys make it tough for an average guy to look cool beside, especially if Joe average is sporting a bit of a paunch. When these guys walk by, distract her by pointing out a bird in the distance. That should work the first few times.

If things go really well, she might want to stay on the beach after everyone else has left and get frisky. In spite of what you see in the movies, it is really a bad idea to make love on the beach. Here’s why. Sex on the beach always involves sand. It’s coarse, and not what you want when you’re getting “slippery”. Plus, it’s not private, and gets cold fast once the sun goes down. Bring her home to bed – trust me!

Anyways, hopefully this gives you guys some ideas and help. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
